Breathing Difficulties

Breathing Difficulties

We recently asked you what you would like us to write about. Likewise, what you were curious to know, and any particular issues you wanted to learn about. Without a doubt, one of the most popular subjects requested was Breathing Difficulties. On the surface, this appeared to be an easy subject. That is until you realised there were so many diverse causes of this problem.

A simple cold or flu can cause interference, as can asthma and other lung problems. Some people have difficulty breathing just by getting cold, others with excess heat and humidity. Sinusitis, allergy, and hayfever, along with throat infections and constrictions are implicated. Stress and anxiety also play a role and then there are the not so obvious things like bloating and digestive disorders. Let us also consider weight issues, smoking, being grossly unfit, and bad breathing habits. And all of these can present themselves as acute or chronic conditions.

These breathing difficulties can cause a host of symptoms; such as a runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy and/or watery eyes, chest congestion, coughs, wheezing, laboured breathing, and shallow breathing.

Each of these could probably have its own special treatment. For now, we will settle for a more general approach. As a former smoker, hay-fever sufferer, and one who occasionally gets a cold or flu, I can fully empathize. I find deep breathing exercises to be of immense benefit; not just with the onset of breathing difficulties, but throughout the year. A deep breath along with a good stretch of the arms, shoulders, and chest forces the issue and gets lots of fresh air into the system.

Start Your Day with Deep Breathing:

Starting your day with a handful of deep breaths makes a great health tonic. A few deep breaths when you are feeling anxious or stressed can perform wonders. Moderate exercise and maintaining optimum weight (or at least doing your best) definitely don’t go astray when you’re trying to overcome the debilitating effects of breathing difficulties.

One very important consideration if you are experiencing serious problems is to consult with your doctor. Some modern medicines really can make life a whole lot easier.

Apart from physical considerations, many healers associate breath with Spirit, so breathing difficulties may be symptomatic of a spiritual dilemma or blockage.

Crystals can help stabilize and support your respiratory system to bring relief from breathing difficulties. They also provide an ongoing process that may also relieve the constant need for medical intervention.

Crystals to Help With Breathing Difficulties:

The foremost crystal for breathing difficulties:

The preeminent crystal for breathing difficulties would be –

Moss Agate – is a stabilising stone that is strongly connected with nature. It is an excellent stone for treating the lungs and specifically for breathing difficulties. Additionally, it relaxes and opens up congested bronchia and lungs. It aids in understanding the spiritual causes behind the physical manifestation of an illness and grounds spiritual energy into the physical world. It boosts your self-esteem and helps to release fear and deep-seated stress. Moss Agate speeds up recovery. It also counteracts chronic conditions. It is anti-inflammatory, boosts the immune system, and treats cold, flu, and infections.

The next top six crystal choices:

In my opinion, the next top six crystal choices would be:-

Amber – is an outstanding healing stone for breathing and lung problems, especially asthma and allergic reactions. It absorbs negative energies and transmutes them into positive ones. It brings healing where it is most needed and is helpful for repairing mucous membranes and the lungs. Amber resonates with the throat and is a powerful chakra cleanser and healer. It also encourages your body to rebalance and heal itself. As an elixir, it is an excellent natural antibiotic.

Amethyst – is a highly spiritual stone that calms apprehension, overcomes stress, and is well known for its healing energies. It is very protective. And well utilised for treating diseases of the respiratory organs as well as with breathing difficulties. It stimulates the immune system. Instal Amethyst clusters in the home to keep the air and life force energy clean and positive. This also contributes to easier breathing.

Apophyllite – has a calming effect and is an effective stress reducer that overcomes anxiety, worry, and fears. It allows you to feel comfortable in your body. It provides for a purer transmission of healing energy. Apophyllite works on the respiratory system, healing asthma attacks, promotes regeneration of the mucus membranes, heals allergies, and is good for alleviating breathing difficulties.

Chrysocolla – calms, cleanses, and re-energises your energy systems, while reducing mental tensions. It is excellent for throat and chest issues; particularly as it relaxes the body and emotions allowing for relaxation of the chest muscles and lungs; also making breathing easier. It has a cooling action that helps heal throat infections. Chrysocolla re-oxygenates your blood and the cellular structure of your lungs, bringing about greater lung and breathing capacity.

Morganite and Vanadanite may be harder to find:

Morganite – helps to oxygenate and restructure disordered cells, clears the lungs, treats the nervous system, and relieves stress-related illnesses. It is useful when used separately and especially helpful in conjunction with other treatments for asthma, emphysema, and tuberculosis.

Vanadinite – guards against dissipating your energy and coaches you in how to conserve your energy at the physical level. It treats chronic exhaustion. It is supportive for breathing difficulties such as asthma and congested lungs. Vanadinite facilitates the practice of circular breathing. Note: Use this stone with caution as Vanadinite is poisonous due to its lead content. It works best as an elixir. So a crystal elixir, essence, or crystal water must be made using the indirect method.

Nine more recommended crystals:

The following crystals are also recommended and are no less useful when dealing with breathing troubles.

Angelite – is soothing to the lungs and throat. It is a soothing stone used for relieving inflammation and repairing tissue and blood vessels.

Emerald – is a life-affirming crystal that also provides the strength of character to overcome life’s difficulties.  It treats sinuses and lungs and is recommended for alleviating breathing issues.

Iolite – is a potent energy for treating sinus and respiratory disorders. It kills bacteria and creates a strong constitution.

Lapis Lazuli – alleviates pain, boosts the immune system, and benefits the respiratory system. It is also protective and stress relieving.

Malachite – is an extremely versatile healing stone that builds strength and is a valuable aid for healing asthma. Note: Malachite is deemed toxic, so a crystal elixir, essence, or crystal water must be made using the indirect method.

Peridot – is a potent cleanser, releasing and neutralising toxins on all levels. It promotes psychological clarity and well-being. It heals and regenerates tissue, has a tonic effect, and aids and strengthens the lungs.

Pyrite – supports the principle of perfect health and well-being. It benefits the circulatory and respiratory systems by boosting oxygen in the bloodstream. It helps alleviate asthma and bronchitis.

Rhodochrosite – acts as an irritant filter and allays asthma and respiratory problems. As an elixir, it helps to relieve infections.

Rutilated Quartz – is an effective energy integrator and a very efficient vibrational healer. It boosts immunity and lung function and is supportive of chronic conditions. It is particularly helpful for asthma and bronchial disorders.

How to Get the Best Results:

These crystals are all powerful healers for improving and assisting with breathing difficulties. You will achieve the best results by keeping them close by, or better yet, carrying them on your person. Alternatively, you may make an elixir, essence, or crystal water, which you can sip throughout the day.

Ease Breathing Difficulties with Salt Crystals:

Perhaps, one of the most overlooked crystals for gaining relief from breathing upsets would have to be –
Halite – commonly known as Rock Salt. It is a strong purifier and a wonderful healer in other ways as well. It works to cleanse toxins from the cells and tissues of the body. Halite provides a sense of purpose normally required to live a healthier lifestyle.

The benefits of Halite are best obtained by breathing microscopic salt particles into your lungs. The easiest way to do this is via Speleotherapy, or salt mine therapy; an ancient therapy undertaken by entering a salt cave or mine. Today rooms are built from salt bricks, specifically for this purpose.

A personal, easy, and convenient way to achieve the same results is with a Salt Pipe. A Salt Pipe is a 100% natural device that is perfectly safe to use. It works exceptionally well for those suffering from allergies, hay fever, asthma, coughs, sinus problems, bronchitis, snoring, and other respiratory disorders.

By simply breathing through the pipe for just 15 minutes a day, the Salt Pipe’s detoxifying properties help with the absorption of oxygen. Users have also found a marked improvement in their general state of health.

Little more than a microgram of salt is inhaled through the pipe, so while it offers real benefits to the respiratory system, there are no adverse effects on other bodily systems or blood pressure.

As you breathe through the pipe, the air is drawn over the salt crystals and purified. The micro-particles of salt penetrate deep into the lungs, clearing blockages in the bronchia and restoring the normal production and transport of mucus. The salt particles also kill the microbes which can cause inflammation of lung tissue.

Some Additional Considerations for Breathing Difficulties:

The environment we live in can make a huge difference when it comes to dealing with breathing difficulties.

Bigger pieces of crystal may be located in your home or workplace to invigorate the environment and contribute to your easier breathing.

Clean and vibrant air is the key to better breathing. Oxygen and negative ion rich air contribute greatly to our breathing efficiency, health, and vitality. Unfortunately for many of us, the air we breathe is stale and laden with positive ions, allergens, moulds, dust, and goodness knows what, which is generally not that good for us.

If you can – keep your windows open as much as possible.

Make arrangements to have your air conditioner thoroughly cleaned. Not just the filters, but deep inside. Air conditioners control the temperature, but they do not clean the air. In fact, they are recycling and spewing out a host of unwanted nasties that contribute to breathing problems. (The only company we have found that does this properly is hydrokleen.com.au. We have no commercial ties with them, so they just got a free plug.)

Make good use of Himalayan Salt Lamps to enrich the air quality with negative ions and provide soft ambient lighting. They neutralise many of the irritants that contribute to difficulty with breathing.

My final tip – get yourself an Elanra® Negative Air Ioniser. These devices fill the air in your zone with small negatively charged ions of Oxygen. Their advertising catchcry is “Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?” (We also have no commercial ties with elanra.com). They also have a portable personal device that is great for when you are on the move.
